Abstract
⺠Long-lived medflies were more likely to exhibit supine behavior. ⺠Males exhibit a longer healthy life expectancy than females. ⺠The sex-specific fraction of the life course in the unhealthy state was constant. ⺠The findings are consistent with the 'dynamic equilibrium' model of healthy aging.
