Abstract
⺠HOCl and chloramines cause oxidation of selected endothelial cell thiol proteins. ⺠One susceptible protein is cyclophilin A which becomes glutathionylated on Cys-161. ⺠Other oxidized proteins include GAPDH, peroxiredoxins and cofilin. ⺠Glutathionylation of other proteins is elevated in cyclophilin knockout Jurkat cells.
