Abstract
⺠Nabaecin-3 is a chimeric antimicrobial peptide derived from a parasitic insect. ⺠The antimicrobial activity of nabaecin-3 depends on the combination of its two domains. ⺠The role of exon-shuffling in buffering loss-of-function mutations highlighted.
