Abstract
► Berberine reduces the migration of human colon cancer cells. ► Berberine activates AMPK via ROS production. ► Berberine reduces the migration through a decrease in integrin β1 protein stability and a reduction in phospho-Src and FAK. ► Knockdown of AMPKα1 attenuates berberine-induced downregulation of integrin β1 and inhibition of cancer cell migration.
