Abstract
⺠PD-S2 is type 1 ribosome-inactivating protein in seeds of Phytolacca dioica. ⺠PD-S2, presents an in vivo proteolytic form, named cutPD-S2. ⺠cutPD-S2 is involved in a process governed by asparagine-specific endopeptidases. ⺠PD-S2 has a defence role providing essentials amino acids for seedling development.
