Abstract
⺠The murine calvaria-derived cells share similar morphological features with MSCs. ⺠The murine calvaria-derived cells share similar surface antigens with MSCs. ⺠But the calvaria-derived cells highly express the transcription factor osterix. ⺠The calvaria-derived cells lose adipogenesis and gain higher osteogenic capacity. ⺠Not all types of murine compact bones in the body are a source for MSCs.
