Abstract
⺠Misfolded secretory proteins accumulate in endoplasmic reticulum (ER). ⺠We investigate the fate of misfolded secretory proteins in Aspergillus oryzae. ⺠Misfolded secretory proteins accumulated in ER are subsequently delivered to vacuole. ⺠The protein delivery to vacuole does not occur in the absence of autophagic activity. ⺠Autophagy delivers misfolded secretory proteins accumulated in ER to vacuole.
