Abstract
⺠FAM69 proteins are a novel family found in all metazoans examined. ⺠They are cysteine-rich type II ER-localised transmembrane proteins. ⺠There are three vertebrate paralogues; FAM69A, FAM69B and FAM69C. ⺠FAM69A is ubiquitously expressed. ⺠FAM69B is highly expressed in the brain and in endothelial cells. ⺠FAM69C is highly expressed in the brain and eye.
