Abstract
⺠We have described for the first time the RAG-dependent recombination in the region dense in breakpoints within TEL and AML1 gene loci associated with t(12;21)(p13;q22) chromosomal translocation by an extrachromosomal recombination assay. ⺠We have found several heptamer-like sequences in the vicinity of RAG-dependent breakpoints at the TEL and AML1 translocation region. ⺠We have found that RAG proteins bind to and introduce DSBs into the nucleosomal TEL translocation region dense in TEL-AML1 breakpoints.
