Abstract
⺠A murine mAb to phosphoinositides neutralizes HIV-1 infection of cells in vitro. ⺠Neutralization occurred because of secretion of β-chemokines inhibitory to HIV-1. ⺠Secretion of β-chemokines was induced by the mAb even in the absence of HIV-1. ⺠Phosphoinositides are intracellular, thus the mAb may have exerted intracellular effects. ⺠A novel intracellular stimulation by a mAb of HIV-inhibitory chemokines is proposed.
