Abstract
► We compare wild-type PI3Kγ with a hybrid-PI3Kγ having only protein kinase activity. ► Both show similar phospholipid binding and subcellular distribution. ► Phospholipid liposomes influence PI3Kγ autophosphorylation dependent on their composition. ► Membrane-bound PI3Kγ does not show protein kinase activity.
