Abstract
⺠Protein S-nitrosylation is critical for signal transduction by nitric oxide (NO). ⺠S-nitrosylated proteins (SNO-proteins) are often difficult to detect and quantify. ⺠Decomposition of SNO-protein to NO or nitrite is required for absolute quantification. ⺠Thiol-based assays can be used to identify sites of S-nitrosylation (SNO-sites).
