Abstract
►FUT3 and FUT5 silencing using shRNAs reduces the expression of sialyl-Lewis antigens. ►Decrease of sialyl-Lewis x levels reduces the binding to E-selectin and hyaluronic. ►Also diminishes the migratory abilities of the gastric cancer cells. ►FUT3 and FUT5 overlap activities but FUT3 acts preferably on type 1 and FUT5 on type 2.
