► Regulation of lysophosphatidic acid receptors is poorly known. ► Here we show that intense crosstalk exits between LPA1 and EGF receptors. ► EGF induced LPA1 receptor desensitization and phosphorylation. ► Angiotensin II and LPA induced EGF receptor transactivation. ► Angiotensin II-induced LPA1 phosphorylation involved EGF receptor transactivation.
