Abstract
⸠Lipoma preferred partner (LPP) is highly expressed in the heart, especially in cardiac fibroblasts. ⸠LPP increases in pressure overload hypertrophy but not in myocardial infarction. ⸠LPP may be used as a novel marker for heart failure due to hemodynamic overload. ⸠Inhibition of nitric oxide upregulates LPP, but not other fibroblast proteins. ⸠LPP may play an important role in cardiac homeostasis and heart disease.
