Abstract
- A fusion protein containing the GRP78 binding peptide WIFPWIQL and the mung bean trypsin inhibitor, named GBP-TI, was constructed by genetic engineering.
- GBP-TI specifically inhibits growth and induces apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells but not in the normal cells.
- GBP-TI induces G1 phase arrest and activated apoptotic pathways in colorectal cancer cells.
- GBP-TI suppresses the growth of xenografted DLD1 tumors in vivo.
