Abstract
► Cellular prion protein (PrPc) could have a neuroprotective role against apoptosis. ► Studies were performed on cerebellar vermis sections after Pt compounds treatment. ► Co-localization of PrPc, Bcl-2 and Bax arose from differentiating Purkinje cells. ► PrPc, together with Bcl-2 action, limited cytotoxicity during postnatal development.
