Abstract
► Damage to the optic nerve increases FGF-2 levels in the retina while reducing it in the optic tectum. ► Axotomy induces a prolonged upregulation of FGFR1 and FGFR3 in both retina and tectum. ► Axotomy decreases FGFR4 in the retina but increases it in the optic tectum.
