Abstract
⺠We investigated in anesthetized rats changes in brain glucose retention reflex (BGR). ⺠Anoxic stimulation of carotid body chemoreceptors increases nNOS and BGR. ⺠Sodium nitroprusside into STn blocks the BGR reflex induced by anoxic stimulation. ⺠l-NAME into STn increases BGR reflex. ⺠NO and STn play key roles in the regulation of BGR reflex post-anoxic stimulation.
