Abstract
⺠gLep-aI is ubiquitous expressed, while gLep-aII is mainly located in goldfish brain. ⺠The widespread distribution of leptin receptor suggests pleitropic leptin actions. ⺠The gLep-aI increases after food intake in liver, but not in hypothalamus. ⺠The leptin system expression appears to be independent of the feeding status. ⺠Leptin could signal short-term changes in food intake, as postprandial satiety.
