Abstract
⺠Omega-3 fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) are implicated in inflammation dampening. ⺠n-3 PUFAs derived resolvins and protectins are potent anti-inflammatory lipid mediators. ⺠D-resolvins and protectins share the pathway marker 17-hydroxydocosahexaenoic acid (17-HDHA). ⺠E-resolvins share the pathway marker 18-hydroxyeicosapentaenoic acid (18-HEPE). ⺠These pro-resolvins could be useful indicators of inflammation dampening in vivo.
