Abstract
â This review discusses the role of 20-HETE in androgen-induced hypertension. â 20-HETE is the cytochrome P450-derived Ï-hydroxylated metabolite of arachidonic acid. â 20-HETE promotes vasoconstriction and endothelial dysfunction. â 20-HETE activates the RAS via induction of endothelial ACE. â CYP4F2 polymorphism is associated with increased urinary 20-HETE and hypertension.
