Abstract
⺠We study interactive effects of 15-deoxy-Î12,14-prostaglandin J2 (15d-PGJ2) in preadipocytes. ⺠15d-PGJ2 interferes specifically the inducible synthesis of endogenous prostanoids. ⺠The inhibition is due to the suppression of NF-κB activation and cyclooxygenase-2 induction. ⺠The prostanoids synthesized by preadipocytes attenuate the subsequent adipogenesis program. ⺠15d-PGJ2 rescues the suppressive effects of endogenous prostanoids on the adipogenesis program.
