Abstract
⺠The hyperreactive platelet phenotype plays a key role in diabetic atherothrombosis. ⺠The efficacy of antiplatelet therapy for primary prevention in this setting is uncertain. ⺠Residual platelet activity despite antiplatelet treatment has been reported in diabetics. ⺠The determinants of interindividual variability in response to antiplatelet drugs are reviewed.
