Abstract
⺠Leptin is known to be an important regulator for the reproductive system. ⺠Adult rats were injected with leptin (8 μg/100gBW,sc) or saline for 4 days. ⺠The ventral prostate lobe was evaluated for PCNA, gene expression and morphology. ⺠Morphology and PCNA analysis showed an increase in proliferation by leptin. ⺠Leptin increased the expression of several important genes on the prostate gland.
