Abstract
⺠l-Thyroxine increases ROS production in THP-1 monocytes, through interaction with αvβ3 integrin. ⺠ROS production by thyroid hormones may induce cell migration and the effect is inhibited by the RGD peptide. ⺠Evidence from the literature points to a role of thyroid hormones in the activation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR).
