Abstract
Stockholm, December 11th, 1906. The Nobel committee has just crowned the respective works of the Spaniard Cajal and the Italian Golgi on the nervous system. But the ceremony turns into a drama: during its conference, Golgi violently attacks his colleague, creating a controversy with deep repercussions between “reticulists” and “neuronists”.
