Mutual separation of trivalent lanthanides (Ln) and actinides (An) is a challenging study in order to dispose effectively these metals in high-level radioactive liquid waste. Both extractant and masking agent are used simultaneously in an extraction system. The strong extractants, diglycolamide (DGA) and dioxaoctane-diamide (DOODA), and several kinds of the masking agents, were employed. The four novel-synthesized aminopolyacetamide compounds, namely, nitrilotriacetamide (NTAamide), hydroxypropane-triacetamide (Citricamide), ethylenediamine-tetracetamide (EDTAamide), and diethylenetriamine-pentacetamide (DTPAamide), were also examined. It can be seen that these compounds has more affirmative to heavy Ln than light ones and mutual separation factors by addition of these compounds are slightly high.
