Abstract
A patient suffering from a urinary tract infection. Uncomplicated acute cystitis is a lower urinary tract infection, common in women, treated by antibiotics. The role of the pharmacist is to remind the patient that certain lifestyle and hygiene practices can help prevent reoccurrence and complications, and to provide advice on phytotherapeutic or homeopathic treatments. Complicated cystitis due to an upper urinary tract infection requires urgent medical treatment.
