Abstract

Lipid emulsions are usually presented separately from other nutrients for parenteral nutrition. The mixture of lipid emulsion with other nutritional components is done just before or during administration because of the limited stability of mixture. We suggest using lipid nanocapsules (LNC) to allow for both the easy incorporation of oils in the aqueous phase and a stable parenteral mixture. The experimental design was used to make LNC-based vegetal oils and to explore their stability in the final mixing parenteral nutrition. The response chosen for the experimental design was the average size of the nanocapsules. The formula of LNC-based vegetal oils has been produced and their stability in parenteral nutrition mixture was measured indicating a process of ripening.
