Abstract
A project in a Primary Care area of 887,134 inhabitants was conducted in order to select the essential medication to treat cardiorespiratory arrest. Furthermore, a supply and review circuit was designed. All of this is expressed in a standard operating procedure. The drugs selected were: adrenaline, amiodarone, atropine, sodium bicarbonate and glycosylated serum 5%, to be included in a transparent plastic case with an identification number and expiry date. A poster with information on the drugs, and request and review forms were designed. At present, almost all of the centers perform and document the revisions with the required periodicity. The circuits function correctly. No incident or notification of medication errors occurred. The professionals have manifested that they feel safer, due to the ease of management and safety that it provides.
