Abstract
SummaryThere exist a variety of indications for transferring critically ill patients and consequently this process is common. However despite well-documented guidelines on appropriate conduct in such situations, critical incidents are still common and the escorting personnel often lack an appreciation and understanding of the important aspects of performing safe transfers. The aim of this article is to try and emphasize these areas and provide a basic introduction to their substance.
