Abstract
This article describes a brochure developed to provide postradiation breast cancer patients with a detailed overview of posttreatment changes to detect early recurrence symptoms. The purpose of this brochure was to enhance the patient's knowledge regarding possible late radiation changes and to become proactive with health care. Topics to be highlighted include the importance of follow-up care, breast self-examination, and a sample personalized care plan. In a changing radiation oncology field, radiation oncology nurses must be aware that postradiation patient teaching as a survivor is the most important aspect of the patient's care.
