Abstract
Interventional radiology has long had a role in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular (CV) disease. Angiography is the gold standard for imaging of cerebral vasculature. Recently, there has been tremendous growth in the field of catheter-based intervention in the treatment of CV disease. The purpose of this series is to review CV anatomy, disease, diagnostic testing, and current percutaneous options available in the treatment of a wide variety of CV disorders. This article will concentrate on anatomy and disease.
