Care of transgender patients presents a unique challenge to nurses, technologists, physicians, and unlicensed assistive personnel in any health care setting, including radiology arenas. If staff are unaware of health concerns that are unique to this population, then the staff are at a great disadvantage in their quest to provide high-quality patient care. This article will provide the reader a better understanding of the transgender population and will allow staff to practice with confidence and competence.
