Phimosis is a common problem in paediatric practice. The diagnosis of phimosis usually does not cause difficulties, but the treatment options are controversial, moreover than the improper management may contribute to the exacerbation of the problem. The aim of this study is to review current recommendations for phimosis management, in particular addressed to community paediatricians who are responsible for its diagnosis and treatment or patient's referral to paediatric surgeon/urologist.
