Abstract
The case of sixteen-year-old boy with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is presented. The patient underwent implantation of ICD at the age of 9 years, as a secondary prevention after cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation. The patient's problems with the acceptance of the ICD, the fear of the cardioverter-defibrillator discharges, restrictions and the avoidance of physical activity, fear from attending the school, sleeping problems and compulsive behavior are described.
