This paper describes Polish and world's experience of nearly 10-years usage of conjugated pneumococcal vaccine in preventing of invasive pneumococcal disease, pneumonia and otitis media in children. Also direct and indirect effects of common pneumococcal vaccination are discussed. The current and future economic benefits of mass pneumococcal vaccinations were pointed out.
