Abstract
Disorders related to the visceral organs malposition with the correct outer symmetry of the body belong to the group of birth defects with variable anatomic and clinical manifestation. Visceral organs malposition syndromes are usually accompanied by complex congenital heart malformations, large blood vessels malformations and gastrointestinal tract defects that considerably worsen the prognosis. Still, the majority of cases are diagnosed during the postnatal period, occasionally even several years after the birth. Noteworthy, there is a huge diversity in the terminology concerning these syndromes that makes it difficult for physicians as well as for parents of suffering children to obtain the current information about the diagnosis, therapy and prognosis and the symptoms of right-left axis differentiation disorders. The aim of this work was to give the general clinical picture of the pathology.
