Abstract
Passive smoking is an essential problem connected with addiction to cigarette smoking. Tobacco smoke contains over 4500 compounds with different toxicity degree. Cigarettes are legally sold means with proven carcinogenic activity in Poland and all over the World. About 67% of Polish children is exposed to passive smoking. Negative influence of tobacco smoke in children is connected with higher incidence of respiratory tract inflammations, cancer diseases, atopic diseases, circulatory system diseases and poorer physical development. The aim of this paper is to pay the attention of paediatricians on the problem of passive smoking and wide spectrum of highly negative effects of passive smoking.
