Abstract
The mean serum gastrin concentration was significantly higher in first detection in infected neonates than in healthy. The mean value of serum gastrin was also significantly higher in third week of life than in first week, both in infected neonates and control group. The kind of infection, Apgar score and sex of sick neonates wasn't responsive to serum gastrin concentration. In severe infected neonates with gastrointestinal disorders the mean serum gastrin concentration in third week of life was significantly lower than in first week.
