Abstract
Patients with ALL with DNA index over 1,16 had immunophenotype characteristic for precursors of B-lineage lymphocytes, mostly with common CD10 antigen expression. Cytogenetic aberrations in lymphoblasts with features of hyperdiploidy or TEL-AML1 gene rearrangements were diagnosed only in patients with common-ALL immunophenotype. No prognostic value of DNA index was found. Favorable cytogenetic profile determined by hyperdiploidy or translocation t(12;21) or TEL-AML1 gene rearrangements has very good prognostic significance in acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
