Abstract
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common life threatening autosomal recessive genetic disease in Caucasians. As survival estimates for CF steadily increase long-term management has become an important focus for intervention. Chronic illness in children creates ongoing stresses for patient and family. One of the roles of the CF centres is therapeutic education of the patients and their families. In this paper the development, aims and implementation of the first in Poland Education Program for families with a child affected by cystic fibrosis are described.
