Abstract
Essential thrombocythaemia (ET) is a chronic myeloproliferative disorder (MPD). It occurs mostly in adults and rarely in children. This condition can be diagnosed when the number of platelets exceeds 1000 Ã 109/l, after eliminating diseases that lead to secondary thrombocythaemia. We present the case of a 12-year-old girl with ET who was treated with anagrelide for 52 months.
