Abstract
Chickenpox is still one of the most common infectious diseases in Poland. Varicella virus infection, contrary to wide-spread opinion, does not always have a mild course. There is still quite high ratÄ of hospitalization due to complications in the course of chickenpox. We presented 2 cases of varicella virus infection complicated by bacterial infections requiring surgical intervention.
