Abstract
Despite the fact that autism is the most precisely defined pervasive developmental disorder and its onset must be prior to age of three years the diagnosis is often delayed. This article is an attempt to analyse early autistic symptoms on the basis of clinical studies of two boys who were diagnosed one in early and other in advanced development. Diagnostic methods and screening tools for autism that can facilitate early diagnosis, intervention and therapy are presented.
