Abstract
In studied group of children with of type 1 diabetic short duration poor metabolic control caused significant damaged of peripheral nerves function. The most sensitive to persistent hyperglycemia in electrophysiological tests was conduction velocity, what indicates on demyelinating damage. Axonal changes were observed in sensory nerves. The most sensitive to toxic persisten hyperglycemia were legs nerves, peroneal and sural, but none tibial.
