Abstract
Inability to fully extend the knee is a common complication during orthopedic rehabilitation. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Controlled-Dynamic-Stretch-Orthosis. A randomized, controlled clinical trial was carried out with two parallel groups of 36 patients. After five adverse events were excluded, the knee extension deficit among the group taking part in the experiment was reduced by 6.52 (± 3.88) angular degrees, in comparison to a 3.47 (± 3.45) angular degree reduction among those in the control group. The clinical relevance of this therapeutic effect should be investigated in future studies using larger collectives.
