Die Behandlungsmöglichkeiten reichen von einer Hilfsmittelversorgung und physikalischen Therapie über systemische und intraartikuläre Medikation bis hin zu einer Vielzahl von operativen Maßnahmen. Ziel der primären konservativen Therapie ist die Reduktion der Symptome durch eine Eindämmung des Entzündungsprozesses.

Due to its complex structure, it has proven to be very difficult to repair or reconstruct an injured hyaline cartilage joint surface.
