Abstract

To realize low cost, high-performance dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) technology on industrial scale, large area grid type DSSC module has been prepared on silver grid-embedded transparent conducting glass substrate. Commercial titanium dioxide (TiO2) and carbon powders were employed to make working and counter electrodes, respectively. Under simulated solar light (AM 1.5, Pin: 100 mW cm−2), 5 cm × 5 cm size carbon counter electrode module with an active area of 11.2 cm2 shows VOC: 0.730 V, ISC: 118 mA, FF: 0.55 with 4.23% active area efficiency, which is comparable to 5.26% of platinum counter electrode module.
